New
American Century
9/24/06 Update
Although
this article was written in '99 it is relevant to 2006. Roughly 40%
of the American people still support the Bush administration. Apparently
they have not seen the MUST READ! "Rebuilding America's Defenses"
which is concerned with Neo-Con strategies for U.S.world domination
and the agenda of Project for a New American Century generally known
as the New World Order. This agenda is now bearing fruits of war and
environmental catastrophe.
It is no longer a choice between Democrat and Republican. It is Neo-Cons
that must be removed from control. This removal will be difficult because
of the stranglehold they maintain on the news media, voting machines
and Christian fundamentalists. Meanwhile Neo-con atrocities are generated
and reiterated across the planet... with promise of war with Iran.
They are just getting started and must be stopped before we are slaves
of the North American Union and all that it implies with radio tags,
national ID and the new census. BE INFORMED! The Military, White House,
DOD including Los Alamos always post relevant documents on the Internet.
Look for their plans for our future. For example: google - neo-con agenda.
Introduction
Scary government documents and manifestos
give witness to the Neo-Con agenda as a blueprint for Fascism, generally
defined as the consolidation of government and industry concentrating
on the fundamentals of imperial expansion, militarism and domestic repression.
Retired Justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court Gene Franchini
stated at a large gathering in Taos,
New Mexico that we’re living in dangerous times and must challenge
those who would remove our liberties. He referred to Ashcroft documents
as putting Americans under surveillance and eroding the Bill of Rights.
This is just the beginning.
This article will present documents, concepts
and philosophy supported by the Bush administration. Pre-W history is found in Ralph Epperson’s The
Unseen Hand (1985), Bertram Gross’s Friendly Fascism (1912) , Ravenscroft’s The Spear
of Destiny and endless hundreds of other publications including El Dorado Sun out of Santa Fe. Noam Chomsky has written much about the days leading up to
the Gulf War and daddy Bush’s New World Order.
Project for a New American Century
PNAC’s leaders
appear regularly on network news. Their membership includes Dick Cheney
(founder), Donald Rumsfeld (founder), Paul Wolfowitz (Deputy Secretary
of Defense), John Bolton, Richard Perle (resigned
chairman of Defense Policy Board), and Chairman Bruce Jackson ( past
VP of Lockheed-Martin). Cheney’s Defense Strategy under George
Bush I inspired the general philosophy of the PNAC plan as found in
Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategies, Forces and Resources for a New
Century. It seeks to establish Pox Americana across the planet.
The PNAC plan calls for massive increase
in defense spending and fighting several wars to establish American
dominance. (They are well underway in these arenas.)A few of the core
missions for the U.S. military forces are highlighted in the document
and listed as: “defend the homeland;
fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theatre wars;
perform the ‘constabulary’ duties associated with shaping security environments
in critical regions; transform U.S. forces to exploit the revolution
in military affairs; control the new “international commons” of space
and cyberspace and pave the way for creation of a new military service
– US Space Forces – with the mission of Space control. In particular
the US must: maintain
nuclear strategic superiority.” The PNAC manifesto was available
in 2000, long before the 9/11 event.
National Security Strategy
The National Security Strategy document
has the American military policing the world. Hendrik Hertzberg in The
New Yorker writes “The Bush vision
is in the end a profoundly pessimistic one and, as such, more than a
little un-American. It is, among other things, a vision of perpetual
war.” The 2002 National Security Strategy
seeks to create a world market in which all nations practice “pro-growth legal and regulatory policies to encourage business investment.” Countries receive financial assistance when
they follow the Bush plan of “tax
policies, particularly lower marginal tax rates that improve incentives” for businesses. If this vision of the future is realized we will
have lost all unique environments not to mention life as we’ve known
it.
The Ugly Americans will be featured in
every village square across the universe.“We will use our economic engagement with other countries to underscore the
benefits of policies that generate higher productivity and sustained
economic growth including rule of law and intolerance of corruption
so that people are confident they will be able to enjoy the fruits of
their economic endeavors.” That’s
humorous considering the policies enacted by Enron, Halliburton, World
Com and the American corporate scene.
Throughout the Security Strategy
we hear the term unilateral, preemptive action. America will exercise the “right
of self defense by acting preemptively against terrorists or state sponsors
of terrorism to prevent harm against our people and our country.”
Bush is endorsed by Congress to
make pre-emptive strikes against any nation perceived to be a potential
threat to undefined U. S. interests.
USA Patriot
Act
Uniting and Strengthening America by
Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism
is the full title of the 342 page manifesto named to spell out the
acronym: USA Patriot. The American Library Association came out in strong
opposition and the N.M. Library Association Executive Board voted to
accept their resolution of opposition.
Bushie wants libraries to tell him what books people are checking
out. Our local library has a courageous display entitled “Freedom to
Know.” Taos librarian Dorothy Kethler finds the USA Patriot act
“knocks the hell” out of the First Amendment .
USA Patriot legislation
gives the feeling of America as a police state. It greatly expands federal police powers to allow
“sneak and peek” searches, investigations without showing probable cause
and every possible kind of snooping. Jim Hightower, editor of The Hightower Lowdown writes six months
ago, “In the past year, the Bush
Gang have issued an alarming array of orders, memos, rulings and announcements
that suppress our freedoms by executive fiat, effectively changing long-established
laws, processes and principles without even consulting Congress.”
According to London’s The Observer the snoopers are hard at work.
The National Security Agency (NSA) is conducting a surveillance operation
against UN Security Council delegations. Disclosures were made in a
memo written by Frank Koza, chief of staff in ‘Regional Targets’ section
of the NSA. Sounds like Nixon days of dirty tricks. “The
memo describes orders to staff at the agency to step up its surveillance
particularly directed at UN Security Council Members.” Details include
interception of the home and office telephones and emails of UN delegates.
The actual memo can be found at www.observer.com.
(It's interesting that 2006 has found so many folks surprised at NSA
wiretapping activities. They have been busy a work for a long time).
Impotent Congress
Congress offers no checks and balances for
ongoing extreme edicts handed down by Bush. The Democratic Party is
barely alive and both parties, with a few exceptions, rubber stamp Bush
into eternity. Or to put it in the words W spoke on 2/26 at the American
Enterprise Institute.: “We meet
here during a crucial period in the history of our nation and of the
civilized world. Part of that history was written by others; the rest
will be written by us.” (Applause) Is that scary or what?
Senator Robert Byrd addressed the Senate
on 2/12/03 with these comments: “To contemplate war is to think about the most
horrible of human experiences……Yet
this Chamber is, for the most part, silent – ominously, dreadfully silent.
There is no debate, no discussion, no attempt to lay out for the nation
the pros and cons of this particular war. There is nothing. This coming
battle, if it materializes, represents a turning point in U.S. foreign policy
and a turning point in the recent history of the world. The doctrine
of preemption is a radical new twist on the traditional idea of self
defense. It appears to be in contravention of international law and
the UN Charter.” The entire speech can be found at www.commondreams.org.
Updated on 2/17/06
The nightmare continues with over 2 years remaining
in his reign. That's enough time to create endless
catastrophes and eternal hardships. Only the people can transform this
forecast. Very slowly we're coming around to the truth. How do we accelerate
the process? We need more than 50% support to stop the neo-cons and
even then it will be difficult until we change the voting machines in
use. They have been very through in the take over of our democracy.
How can America support a government
that promises never-ending war and enduring surveillance? We're prodded
and disrobed at airports while U.S. borders and weapons facilities are
wide open. Emperalistic control is projected across the planet while
the Gulf Coast tragedy is ignored. Deception, secrecy, sadistic torture,
racism, environmental devastation, war mongering are synomous with the
neo-con, Bush administration.Regarding
Operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Problems at Los
Alamos have been publicized for years. Apparently nothing has
been done to safeguard the facility. And what about nuclear power plants
in heavily populated areas with no workable evacuation plans. If there
is indeed a real threat to “the homeland”, Mr. Ridge should do more
than scare everybody to death with childish advice.
Conclusion
Know and understand the philosophy, intentions
and roadmap of federal, state and local government. Become involved
in your special way: action groups, communication and prayer. Do whatever
possible to express support for the Bill of Rights and loathing
for the Project for the New American Century.
We must act now for peace. Do one action against war and the Project daily.
For example send a brief letter to representatives in Congress and mention
Rebuilding America’s Defenses and PNAC’s plan for world dominance.
Let them know we are awake and watchful. Tell government we can see
the hypocrisy in what they produce.
Have courage in this time of endarkenment. Fear and a sense of hopelessness can be overcome
with love, understanding, meditation, prayer and living in the moment.
